Public-benefit development project
The Sastamala – Finland’s Wedding City project is a public-benefit development project carried out by the city's vitality services during 2026, aimed at strengthening Sastamala’s wedding city image and reinforcing cooperation among different actors in the sector.
The project has received EU rural funding through Leader Joutsentenreitti. Through the project, a common theme, positive visibility and service packages will be created to support local businesses and associations, especially wedding industry operators. The target group is all companies and associations in the Sastamala area.
Project objectives
• strengthen Sastamala’s image as Finland’s wedding city
• increase cooperation between wedding industry companies and associations
• create new business opportunities and service packages
• increase the area’s attractiveness and visibility nationwide
Measures
• development of the wedding city theme and marketing material: visual identity and website
• shared visibility at events
• networking events to strengthen cooperation
• visibility on social media: launch of the “Sastamala as a wedding city” theme
The project runs throughout 2026, during which common operating models will be created. The goal for 2026 is to establish a permanent basis for cooperation so that the city of Sastamala can shine in the spotlight it deserves with its numerous wedding services.
