The Lahdenperä Nature Trail, located in the village of Lahdenperä in Suodenniemi, northern Sastamala, is about 6 km long in total. The trail is maintained and improved by the local village association through volunteer work.

The end section of the trail was modified in autumn 2023; a map of the route can be found at the starting point and along the way. The trail is marked with blue ribbons and yellow signs on trees. If you take a photo of the info board at the starting point with your phone, you won’t get lost.

The route runs fairly high, following the same line as before and also using strong paths made by deer. In its new layout, the trail is a circular route ending near the starting point. It can be walked in either direction.

The trail passes through the surroundings of Maununvuori, and you can also choose a shorter section (4.2 km). Along the way, you can explore various forest and rocky landscapes, enjoy the sounds and scents of nature, and observe animals, plants, and other wonders.

Take a break at the top of Maununvuori, where you can see Suodenniemi Church’s tower and the new tall wind turbines. The trail also offers unique natural stone steps. Nearby, there are two beautiful small log-built rest spots.

The starting point is about 8 km from Suodenniemi center. Google Maps will guide you if you enter Lemmetynperäntie as your destination. The trail sign is visible on the right side of Lemmetynperäntie. You can park your car near the starting point along Lemmetynperäntie.

The Lahdenperä village association asks that you respect the environment and follow Finland’s “Everyman’s Rights.” Lighting a campfire always requires the landowner’s permission.
