Do you want your information included on the VisitSastamala pages?

Listing on the VisitSastamala pages is free for local tourism operators. You do not have to be a full-time tourism entrepreneur; the main thing is that your product is suitable for tourists. Welcome, for example, are cafés, restaurants, cottage rentals, event and conference venues, saunas, etc. Company information comes to our pages from VisitFinland’s DataHub, where companies enter information about their services. DataHub enables sharing Finnish tourism company and product information from a single place to multiple channels. By entering information into DataHub, the information appears not only on VisitSastamala but also, for example, on VisitTampere’s pages.

Tips for use:

Product types and the subcategories they open determine where, for example on our pages, the product will appear. So you should be careful with them, meaning on the one hand stick to what the destination actually is, and on the other hand select what is necessary.
• If the venue has very different products, it’s worth creating a separate product for each of them (for example, a separate one for the restaurant, another for the conference room, another for an exhibition).
• When a product has been created, it will first be sent for review (so it will not appear on the pages immediately).
• When you start creating a product, the program first offers the option to create it in English. By pressing the plus sign under “Add language versions” you can also create a Finnish-language product. Select “Finnish” and then press “Add languages”. Now you will see two tabs, one in English and one in Finnish. If you do not intend to make an English version, remove it by clicking the cross. If you create the product in English, the company must have an English-language website where the service is at least mentioned.
• Only the fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory, so you do not have to fill in, for example, the price or day-specific opening hours.

The most common problems are:

• Too many or incorrect categories have been selected for the product (max 5, and they should be those you actually offer, not those provided by others nearby)
• Images are of poor quality or missing descriptive texts/other information. The first image (cover image) should preferably be a landscape (horizontal) image.
• If you state that the service is accessible, there must be information about this on the website.

Tip: Artificial intelligence is a great tool for making translations. If you need, for example, English text for a website or product, input the text in Finnish into the AI and ask it to translate it into English. Always check the translation, though — names in particular can cause difficulties.

Do you want your event included in the VisitSastamala event calendar?

Events are added to the Tampere Event Calendar, from which they are pulled to the VisitSastamala Events page by location. Therefore, Sastamala must be defined as the event’s location.
